Standard self-guided day rentals are $40 per rider, dropping to $35 each for four or five riders and $30 each for groups of six or more. Before you book anything, check rider fit, what is included, the meeting point and your return time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is the thing nobody tells you about cycling in Grenada: the island is steep. Not rolling \u2014 steep. St. George&#8217;s climbs straight up from the harbour, and the road out towards Grand Anse does not stay flat for long. On a normal bicycle, in Caribbean heat, most visitors would turn around within twenty minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electric assist is what makes the difference. It flattens the hills enough that you spend the day looking at the view instead of at your front wheel, and it gives you the range to actually get somewhere and back within a port window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is the case <em>for<\/em> an e-bike. This guide is mostly about the other half \u2014 working out whether it is right for you, and what to check before you hand over any money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who an e-bike day actually suits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be honest with yourself here. It genuinely matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>It suits you if:<\/strong> you have cycled within the last year or two, you are comfortable starting, stopping and balancing a heavier bike, you are happy in traffic without protected cycle lanes, and you can handle a hot day with a possible shower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>It does not suit you if:<\/strong> you have not ridden in years, you are uneasy in traffic, you expect segregated bike paths, or anyone in your group is only coming along so the group can stay together. That last one causes more spoiled days than anything else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two Grenada-specific points that surprise visitors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li><strong>Traffic drives on the left.<\/strong> If you have only ever cycled on the right, your instincts at junctions will be wrong for the first half hour. A port day comes with a hard deadline attached, which makes it the worst possible day to discover you are not enjoying riding. If an operator cannot answer these clearly, that tells you something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. <strong>Rider requirements.<\/strong> Any age, height or licence rules, and what happens if someone in the group does not meet them. 2. <strong>What is included.<\/strong> The specific bike, helmet, lock, charged battery and a contact number that works while you are out. 3. <strong>The exact price due today<\/strong>, and whether anything else is collected at pickup. 4. <strong>Deposit handling.<\/strong> Whether a deposit is a card hold or an actual charge, how much it is, and when and how it is released. These are very different things and they should be labelled honestly. 5. <strong>The meeting point<\/strong>, with directions from where you will actually be standing \u2014 not just a street name. 6. <strong>Route limits.<\/strong> Where the bikes may and may not go, and which routes the operator has actually ridden recently. 7. <strong>Support.<\/strong> What to do after a puncture, a battery warning, a fall or a sudden downpour, and whether someone comes to you. 8. <strong>The return deadline<\/strong>, agreed explicitly, with your ship&#8217;s all-aboard time in mind. 9. <strong>Cancellation and missed-port terms.<\/strong> What happens if your ship does not call, arrives too late, or the weather makes riding unsafe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About range, and what it really means<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will see e-bikes advertised with a range figure \u2014 ours are rated up to 45 miles per charge. Treat that as an equipment specification, not a promise about your route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Real-world range depends on the hills you climb, your weight, how much assistance you use, the wind and the weather. In Grenada, with genuine climbing involved, plan conservatively and treat the rated figure as a ceiling you will not reach rather than a distance you can count on. This matters more than usual on a cruise day, because running low on battery three miles from the ship is a scheduling problem, not just an inconvenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The five-minute handover check<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before you ride away, do these six things. Your cruise line and onboard app are the only authority for your all-aboard time. Your return time needs to leave room for the ride back, the hand-back itself, the walk to the terminal, the security queue and a weather margin. If you are staying on the island rather than visiting by ship, ask us about them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Collection and return times<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Standard collection is <strong>9am to 5pm Monday to Friday<\/strong>, and <strong>9am to 2pm on Saturday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two things matter if you are arriving by ship:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li><strong>Saturday returns are extended to 5pm for cruise passengers.<\/strong> A Saturday port call is not limited by the 2pm shop close &#8212; tell us your ship and date when you book.<\/li>\n\n\n<li><strong>Sunday rides can be arranged on request.<\/strong> The shop is closed to walk-ins on Sundays, but contact us with your date and we will make arrangements where we can.<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your ship docks before 9am, say so when you book.
